Welcome to the Historic House of Dr. Jonathan Pitney, the most important individual to live at the Jersey Shore in the first half of the 19th century. Physician, intellectual, public servant, educator and businessman...the good Doctor is known as the "Father of Atlantic City" (1854), the constant lobbyist responsible for the construction of the Absecon Lighthouse (1857) and the leader of the movement in 1837 to create Atlantic County. Tour with us Doctor Pitney's Home...

Welcome! Our center hall with its wide pine flooring leads into the parlor, dining room, kitchen and its stairway leads up to our rooms.

The Prince William parlor is a quiet retreat for conversation, enjoying our collection of medical antiques, or reflecting on the day.

The Colonial dining room is inviting; (adjacent to the kitchen) with aromas of fresh breads and entrees arousing your senses of appetite and fond memories.

Our busy country kitchen, with its warm hearth, and colonial country charm.
